City Museum of Novi Sad

While this museum in Petrovaradin fortress has a permanent exhibit with some old artifacts, the main highlight since 2023 is the Mileva Einstein exhibit. Mileva Maric, Einstein's wife, lived in Novi Sad for many years and attended the same university studies for physics as Albert Einstein (the only woman to do so). This exhibit commemorates her and highlights how her efforts towards Einstein's famous breakthroughs have not been properly credited. While the subject is still under debate, the exhibit obviously contains some home bias. The permanent exhibit is also nice to look at, especially the well hidden deep inside the fortress. The museum does not have any free days.

Gallery of Matica Srpska

Most likely the best art gallery in Vojvodina, this gallery features many top Serbian painters as well as some sections with changing exhibits. It is free on Fridays.

Vojvodina Museum

The highlight of this museum is undoubtedly the gold roman helmets. Some parts of the museum have been under construction recently, but it's possible this will finish soon.

Museum of Contemporary Art

While much smaller than the big Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, this museum is always free to visit and therefore may be worth stopping by if you are near.
