Block 70 has been the best known location for Chinese products for a long time, but times are changing. As time passes, there's more Chinese restaurants, more Chinese tourists, and more Chinese products (thank you Temu!). The number of Chinese tourists and foreign workers in Serbia continues to grow thanks to relaxed visa policy compared to EU countries. And as China's exports reach all time highs, the number of Chinese products arriving in Serbia naturally rises as well.
Chinese Restaurants and Cafes
There are really far too many Chinese restaurants to list here, but let's try to cover some highlights.
WangJiao Chinese Restaurant
This is a much more authentic Chinese restaurant than most in Belgrade. You can often see peking duck hanging in the kitchen window and their Sichuan (Szechuan) chicken is probably the best in town.
Tea Talk
Located in a convenient but noisy area, this tea shop offers authentic Chinese teas and desserts.
Youran Tea House
In a central but quiet area, this tea house is more of a restaurant, with a lengthy menu that includes unique offerings like matcha tiramisu.
Oh Dumpling (in Vracar and Zarkovo)
A simple and straightforward dumplings shop, where the dumplings are cooked fresh.
Haiyang Hot Pot
A fancy hotpot restaurant, complete with dry ice and elegant presentation of food.
X.WANG's Kitchen
An authentic and convenient restaurant with an extensive menu of soups, noodles, and dumplings.
Spring Belgrade
Highly rated for authenticity with a kitchen view. Known for oolong milk tea and generous portions.
Chinese Shops
Robna Kuca
Often nicknamed "Chinese shops", these stores usually sell a wide variety of manufactured plastic goods from China. From hardware tools to kitchenware to art supplies and carpets, most common household products can be found in such stores, and these stores are found in most cities in Serbia. The largest such store in Serbia may be the 4-floor tall Kineski tržni centar Peking in Subotica, but Robna Kuća Panda in Belgrade is not far behind.
Eurasia Shopping Center
This giant new shopping center, opened in the 2nd half of 2024, is a huge collection of imported Chinese goods. The many shops in this 2-floor warehouse building have a selection of products that is far bigger than any single shop in Serbia. There are also about a dozen restaurants in this building, with some (like Big Brother Noodle House) receiving many very good reviews.
Chinatown
This Zemun Chinatown is unknown to most locals, and that's in part because it is still a work in progress - it's not very popular and many of the shop stalls are still empty. But similar to the Eurasia Shopping Center, there are several Chinese restaurants, a Chinese supermarket, and other products for sale.
Other
Dragon Boat Festival
The "Nihao China" China-Serbia Duanwu International Dragon Boat Festival is held annually at Ada Ciganlija. Professional and amateur paddlers from across Europe race dragon boats in a celebration of Chinese culture and sport.
